Ararat Church of Christ: Small Groups

Small groups are the life-blood of the Ararat Church of Christ (ACOC). In fact, the early church had a two-fold strategy of church involvement, a pattern which worked to strengthen both individuals and entire churches and promote authentic spiritual growth.

The first strategy involved the corporate gathering together of the entire fellowship. (Hebrews 10:25) At this coming together of the entire church, there is opportunity to enjoy Christian fellowship, to experience dynamic praise and worship, to partake of communion, and to be taught and challenged by the Word of God.

However, Sunday worship service attendance is not enough. The early church also met from "house to house." The corporate gathering and small groups of the early church are mentioned in Acts 2:46 and Acts 20:20.

Belonging to a small group offers a range of benefits that are otherwise unavailable. Because of this, we encourage everyone to join one. Here are some of the advantages of belonging to an ACOC small group:

  • The opportunity for discussion of issues and Scripture texts.
  • Close fellowship with others.
  • Building of relationships and formation of friendships.
  • Personal prayer and ministry in an intimate setting.
  • Opportunity to develop and use your strengths in serving others
  • Effective pastoral care.

Small groups currently available at ACOC include the following:

Services Overview

Our services begin at 10 am each Sunday and all are welcome. Primary school children are invited to stay in the main service as we worship and then leave to participate in the Discovery (Sunday School) program.
