Ararat Church of Christ: Emergency Relief

Headed by Alli Llewellyn, Emergency Relief is a ministry of the Ararat Church of Christ to the community of Ararat. Churches take it in turn to provide this service and so it is available at our church every five weeks. On that week it is open at the church building Monday to Friday from 1pm to 2pm.

Those eligible to receive help are recipients of a pension or unemployment benefit. Apart from that, there are no restrictions based on age, race or creed. Food is provided as well as a groceries' voucher for fresh food (It cannot be used to purchase cigarettes, alcohol, etc.) Under certain circumstances, a petrol voucher may be provided.

The supportive staff are also willing to lend an ear to those who simply need someone to talk to and when appropriate, they may refer clients on to other people in the church who can offer further support.

Availability dates for Ararat Church of Christ Emergency Relief can be found on our Church Calendar.

Services Overview

Our services begin at 10 am each Sunday and all are welcome. Primary school children are invited to stay in the main service as we worship and then leave to participate in the Discovery (Sunday School) program.
